2010 La Croix Figeac

On the calcareous plateau of Saint Emilion, looking towards Pomerol, this long established estate boasts some excellent sites, specifically in Lamarzelle where one of their blocks sits right next to Chateau Figeac. The varietal pool is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc with an average vine age of 35 years. Meticulous work in the vineyards, combined with the wisdom of Michel Rolland as consultant has turned Croix Figeac into one of the safest values in Saint Emilion.

Outstanding opaque black crimson colour with deep dark crimson red black hue. The nose displays perfumed aromas of violets and blackcurrants which overlay some cigar box, earth and spice. Medium to full bodied with an elegant structure the palate features almost succulent like ripe blackcurrant flavours which are dominate over some black cherries, earthy cedar and spice. Slightly dryish, chewy tannins are very well integrated. Long blackcurrant, cedar, subtle earth and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years (2019-2020).
