Tasting note: [Cask 1979-307] This youthful, bright gold Southern Highlander is the peaty alter ego of Loch Lomond - an otherwise light and fruity malt. Packed with sweet, earthy peat-reek evocative of smoked meats and chimney soot as well as new oak, lavender honey and trace menthol on the nose, it already feels mature, with a seamless fruit and smoke combination reminiscent of middle aged Caol Ila. The finish is creamy, smokey, warming, while late hints of lucerne mulch, lanolin and baking spices complete the palate. Deliciously sweet and sooty. 52.7% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. 341 bottles.

Notes from Claxton's... An earthy peat and slight chalkiness on the nose, with white pepper, vanilla and malted biscuits on the pallet. Cinnamon and cloves on the finish. A brilliant and warming dram.
