Philippe Bouzereau considers himself a custodian of the Vieux Clos rather than the owner, and takes great pride in tending this vineyard of Historic relevance. The Vieux Clos is one of the first plots of land given to the Cistercian monks by the Dukes of Burgundy during the Middle Ages. It was on this site they established the Maison de Citeaux and set out to carve underground cellars out the limestone rock of Meursault.
Ravaged by phylloxera in the 19th century, the Bouzereau family revived the Vieux Clos in 1995, replanting it with a massale selection of their own vineyards. Over the years, the wines from this Monopole have gained recognition amongst the most distinctive and assertive wines of the village and this 2009 is a must.

Bright straw colour with pale straw hue. The nose displays refined aromas of white peach, cashew, some toasty oak, light honeycomb and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate delivers elegant but flavoursome delicate white peach, cashew, lightly roasted almond and spice characters. Quite refined with excellent length and mouthfeel. Long aftertaste of nutty cashew, almond, white peach and spice.
Cellar 4-5 years (2016-2017).
Alc 13.5%
