2008 Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot Echezeaux Grand Cru

Semi translucent dark crimson red colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose displays perfumed scents of violets, black cherries and dark raspberry followed by some spice and cedar with a light earthy overlay. Light to medium weight the palate displays good power and richness but not quite to the level expected of Grand Cru Burgundy. Flavours of dark cherries, cedar and spice followed by some meaty earth like characters. Slightly firmish and dry tannins but in balance. Medium to long aftertaste of dark cherry, spicy cedar and meaty earth.
Cellar 5-6 years (2016-2017).
