2007 Victory Point The Mallee Root Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec Merlot

A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 14% Malbec that has been aged in French oak barriques, of which 30% were new, for 18 months. Opaque very dark crimson red colour with deep dark red hue. The nose is very perfumed with aromas of violets, cedar, blackcurrant, ripe mulberry and spice emanating from the glass. Medium to full bodied the palate displays flavours of ripe blackcurrant, cedar, leather and spice. Fine grained dryish but balanced tannins. Good length with medium to long aftertaste of blackcurrant, mulberry, leather and spicy cedar.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2011-2015).
