2007 Sansibar Macduff 8 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Highlands, SCOTLAND
$195. 00
Bottle
$2340.00 Dozen
ABV: 49.2%
A toddler by Speyside standards, having been founded in 1958, purchased by Bacardi and now owned by Dewars, Macduff rarely makes it to market as an official distillery bottling. Around 10% of the malt whisky produced is released as a single malt (usually under the Glen Deveron label), the remainder forming a major component in the Dewar’s and William Lawson blends. As a single malt, Macduff is most commonly found as a 10 year old with the house style tending towards fruity, sherry sweetness. This release comes from the German Independent bottler 'Sansibar'.

Tasting note: Brilliant gold. A sustained note of Crunchie bar before the sweetness drops a notch and the youthful malt peeks through. Five minutes air contact suggests brine, dried apple, cut grass and wavering sugars. Follows through with relaxed, medium bodied flavours of tangy malt, honey, spicy stewed pear and plum and a mildly tannic, mouth warming finish. Tasty. Non chill-filtered. 49.2% Alc./Vol.
