Gamay is the only permitted grape for wines that are produced in the Beaujolais Region, where it reaches perfection growing in granite soils. The technique of carbonic fermentation is used in Beaujolais in order to enhance the fermentation of the wine. The grapes are placed whole, uncrushed, in the fermenting vessel. Fermentation begins within the individual berries resulting in a light fruity wine.
Semi translucent, brilliant purple mauve colour with mauve purple hue. Lifted top notes of raspberry, raspberry jube and spice.
