2006 Cadenheads Small Batch Royal Brackla 12 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Four Bourbon hogsheads matured this young Royal Brackla which was bottled at close to 60% in 2019 and limited to 1050 bottles. How would you describe Brackla’s distillery character? According to one source, "The distillery set-up is all about creating and then capturing esters". We typically find a floral fruitiness, also a little beeswaxiness. Given its youth and extreme ABV, this one will also be quite spicy. Until recently, most of Royal Brackla's output has been reserved for the Dewars blends. However, as of 2019, Dewars unveiled plans for a revamped RB range, including 12, 18 and 21 year old age statements. Expect to see more from this otherwise obscure distillery.

Notes from Cadenheads... Nose: Vanilla pods, whole pineapples, caramel with hints of lime and paprika. Flavour: Thick chewy mouthfeel with lemon peel, honey, almonds and gooseberries. Finish: Hint of spice, heavy cream with lemon, white chocolate and soft orange notes. 57.7% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
