Peter and Robyn Simme planted their 20 acre vineyard in Yuroke in 1997, specializing in Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. The site is ten minutes north of Tullamarine at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level. The vines are hand pruned with the grapes being hand harvested. Maturation takes place in French oak.

This is a big Pinot, in the mould of Tarrington or Winchelsea.

Deep brick red colour with brick red hue – there is some sediment evident, suggesting that this is an unfiltered Pinot. Perfumed nose of cherry, spice and violets, showing strong varietal character. The palate flavours are generous with black cherries, spice and anise evident. Mouthfilling power wave. Fine dryish tannins. Aftertaste of truffle and earth with a touch of game.
Cellar 3 - 4 years (2011 - 2012)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%
