Notes from Adelphi... this is chestnut in colour with good beading. A controversial selection – truly a Marmite whisky, you either love it, or you hate it! The nose is like stepping into a cheddar cheese factory. Rich gamey notes of well hung pheasant, ripe silage on a warm, Scottish summer’s day and new leather (quite possibly still at the tannery). Emerging wafts of overripe plums in fermenting prune juice with breaths of the seaside, coal smoke and matchbox striker. The matchbox striker lingers on the taste, combined with salt water taffy and cured Bellota ham. A medium length finish, transcending from the hill (game) to the sea (saltwater).
