2001 Wither Hills Chardonnay

Bright pale gold colour. The nose displays strong notes of spice, butterscotch, toasted oak and melon. The texture is creamy, with flavours of spice, yeast lees and almonds emerging over a very spicy background. Excellent length and depth with citrus flavours emerging. There is just a hint of butterscotch but it is acceptable. The spicy oak character continues to dominate, followed by an aftertaste of almonds, spice and butterscotch.
