1999 Katnook Estate Coonawarra Merlot

This wine has spent 15 months in French oak. Medium body, brick red colour. The nose displays a surprising degree of tertiary aroma that is not expected from such a young wine. Aromas of earth, spice and leather. The palate is relatively light, with hints of chocolate and liquorice, with truffle earth end notes. Fine, dry, firmish tannins followed by earthy truffle and leather aftertaste. Cellar 1-2 years.
