1999 Gordon & Macphail Connoisseurs Choice Ledaig 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

This non-chill filtered Ledaig was distilled in 1999 and matured in refill/remade American oak Hogsheads before bottling in 2015. Notes from the bottler suggest a "Peppery malt with ripe banana, orange and mango flavours complemented by a milk chocolate edge and a lingering cigar ash finish." 46% Alc./Vol.

Ledaig is actually made at Tobermory distillery, which was in the past known as 'Ledaig', changing its name in the 1970s. The distillery occupies the ground beside the Ledaig Burn on the foreshore of the picturesque 18th century harbour of Tobermory. Closed several times, most recently in the 1980s Tobermory reopened in 1989 and produces a heavily peated expression under the Ledaig label.
