Burnside is a synonym for a 'tea spooned' malt, which means the whisky is almost entirely from one distillery, however there's been a tiny fraction from another distillery added to it. Consequently, according to strict Scotch Whisky regulations, this then has to be classified as a single cask blended malt, rather than a single malt. Word has it that Adelphi's Burnside is made up of two very famous Speyside distilleries, both known for never selling single casks to independents. One of them begins with "B". Given the rumoured provenance of this batch, the price is very reasonable indeed. Aged from 1999 to 2018, the single barrel yielded 270 bottles. 59.1% Alc./Vol.
