1998 Barossa Valley Estate Ebenezer Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Made from a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, the wine was matured in a combination of new and two year old small French oak casks for 10 months.This is a much firmer wine than the Ebenezer Shiraz. Very deep brick red crimson colour. The nose is almost perfumed with aromas of spice, plum, stewed fruit and confectionery with earthy leather end notes. The palate is quite dry and relatively tight with flavours of confectionery, spice, vanilla and plum emerging, but overshadowed by firm, lingering dry tannins. Cellar 5-8 years.
