1996 Douglas Laing & Co. XOP Xtra Old Particular Highland Park 20 Year Old Single Cask Limited Edition Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A well-aged indie release of the legendary Orkney malt bottled as part of Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range. These are the 'jewels' in the collection, with all bottlings released as cask strength, single cask editions, handsomely packaged in wax-dipped bottles with dovetailed wooden boxes and individually numbered certificates. Compare the prices on official distillery releases of similar age and this is solid buying given it's non chill-filtered, high ABV and from respected provenance.

Distilled in September 1996 and matured in one refill hogshead (#11494) for 20 years until November 2016, expect whiffs of maritime air, sweet malt, gentle smoke, tobacco and honey. 280 bottles produced. 53% Alc./Vol.
