Tasting note: Brilliant gold. Shy at first with a sea shore and white pepper opening, then comes the peat as a lazy waft of smoked cheese, menthol tobacco plus hints of lanolin and choc fudge. Delicious and vibrantly styled with a dried herbal, salt, pepper and ocean breeze attack over oatmeal malt. Intense and long salt’n’pepper surge carries through to the finish which offers cocoa and sweet peat. Ends light, fresh, faintly kippery and shows good length. Bowmore with heavy seasoning. Very maritime. 57.2% Alc./Vol.
