1995 Acorn's Glen Elgin 22 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Speyside, Highlands, SCOTLAND
$285. 00
Bottle
$3420.00 Dozen
ABV: 50.8%
As the major part of production continues to be used in the White Horse blends, it was only relatively recently that Glen Elgin became available as a single malt. The house style remains mellow and sweetly honeyed and only found as a standard issue 12 year old, excepting the odd indie bottling. This one's from the Japanese 'Acorn' company. Distilled 1995 and bottled 2018.

Tasting note: [Cask #3218 tasted]. Bright gold. Floral soft bouquet , bursting with sweet fruit (caramelised pineapple, peach and pear). Air contact accents a peppery nose feel, along with cocoa, vanilla and cream tea biscuits. Concentrated. Lots of beeswax and stewed orchard fruitiness - almost like some Clynelish. Warming alcohol, finishing with ripe apple, pear drops and vanilla. Crisp and invigorating. 50.8% Alc./Vol.
