Tasting note: [15ml sample] Antique copper with a brooding bouquet of cigars, walnuts, coffee cake as well as hints of baklava. Nicely harmonised... later come the fruits - orange skins, dried apricots... The malt has a juicy grape-like quality that reminds you of extra-aged Armagnac: Dates, dark chocolate then cedary oak and a little pith balancing the finish. Uncut, it's the kind of sensuous sherried style that demonstrates what this distillery does best. Add minimal water and it's softer, rounder and even more sustained. 50.1% Alc./Vol. 406 bottles.
