1990 Highland Park Travel Exclusive Edition 20 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

The Highland Park Vintage Editions range consists of four whiskies which were distilled in 1998, 1994, 1990 and 1973. The team looked into their maturing stocks to find sherry-seasoned casks which would showcase different dimensions of the classic distillery profile of honey sweetness and aromatic peat.

Gerry Tosh from Highland Park comments of the 1990, "The whisky is designed to be the middle point of flavour between the 18 and 21 year olds. It has the fruity orange notes of the 18 and then delivers the dry spiciness of the 21.

The cask make up has a backbone of American oak sherry casks like the 21 thus for me creates the lighter, sweeter flavours which then allows the smoke to be a little more obvious. The dryness and richness, the counter balance, comes from the use of first fill Spanish oak sherry casks which is reminiscent of the 18 year old".

The Highland Park Vintage Editions are not generally available anywhere other than duty free, not even at the distillery. We've secured a very small quantity for the Australian market.
