Tasting note:Pure, pale gold / watery hue belies its real age. Not a trace of peat in the initial pass with an amazingly fruity bouquet (for this distillery), developing from dried orchard fruits to poached pear; further air contact finds no loss of freshness and releases hints of lanolin and pipe tobacco as the peat finally comes to the fore. Terrific complexity. Follows through with a featherweight entry leading into a seamlessly integrated, semi sweet, peaty profile; a superb thread of vanilla runs in an out of pulsing spices. Persistence, balance, texture - everything is near perfectly realised. Finishes sweet yet salty, tangy and moreish, trailing off with brine and liquorice bullet flavours. Unique. A brilliant whisky experience. 47.2% Alc./Vol.
