Batch 3 of Glenglassaugh’s "Rare Cask Releases" are now available, with each cask distilled between 1965 and 1986 providing a rare glimpse into the distillery's history. This step back in time follows the launch of Glenglassaugh’s new and intriguing Wood Finish range, which showcases fresh developments at the distillery since its 2008 revival. As expected, the Australian allocations are smaller then ever. We currently have just three expressions on offer: the 1975, 1978 and the 1986.

The '75 promises an intriguing whisky, as well as being incredibly long-aged (distilled in June 1975), it spent a finishing period in a Sauternes hogshead before being bottled in November 2016. This is one from a tiny outturn of just 177 bottles world wide.

Notes from Glenglassaugh: Colour: Rich gold. Nose: Hints of wild honey, white pepper spice, yellow pear, apricot preserve and barley sugars. Palate: Caramelised orchard fruits, warm oak, cinnamon spice, grape skin and rich sweet barley. 50.5% Alc./Vol.
