Glen Grant remains one of the world's best-selling single malts (being especially popular in Italy), and is also available in various independent and vintage bottlings. This one from Gordon & Macphail is extremely rare. It was matured in a first Fill Sherry butt.

Other reviews... n24.5 Oh my word! Spices with mufflers attached, oloroso with a few brush strokes of prune juice and molasses. And for all the obvious Spanish influence, we have echoes of Kentucky with liquorice and honey in delicate proportions and pastel shades; t23 the oak makes an early impact, as you might expect. But that is soon buried under layers of melt-‐in-‐the-‐mouth fruit, then a more bitter burnt raisin; f24.5 fabulously long. And the most extraordinary bisection of an ancient, slightly overcooked fruitcake. Which consisted of about 76% raisin; b24 the kind of nose which makes it difficult to get to the next stage. But when you make that next, tentative step, you are so glad you did! Just about perfect oloroso, which alone these days makes this a national treasure. 43% Alc./Vol.
