Widow Jane Oak & Applewood Aged Rye Whiskey (750ml)

Tasting note: [Batch 32] First matured in a once-used barrel that matured bourbon for a decade, the Widow Jane team added some fresh cut Applewood staves to the mix. Lighter and more Bourbonesque on the nose than the American oak version, this has mint, rock lollies, and juniper-like freshness to the nose. With air contact, oak shavings and a little caramel enter. Soft and accessible, the palate offers understated applemint and spicy rye flavours, ending fresh and finely tannic. Lingering oiliness sustains the length. Nice sipping rye. 45.5% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews.... ... [Batch 13 tasted] Sweet, firm, has a few teeth that aren't afraid to nip - and a slight tobacco note on the nose.... Plenty to chew on for sure.
