The Farmer's Wife Autumn Dry Gin (700ml)

Distilled with 13 botanicals, rather than four or five which is more typical, this wonderful new Australian gin includes natives such as lemon and anise myrtle, sage and pepperberry, while the citrus profile is derived from kaffir lime and ruby red grapefruit, which distiller and owner, Kylie Sepos says is a lot softer than using lemon or lime citrus. The signature botanical is native bee sugar bag honey.

Kylie has developed cocktail recipes for the gin but her personal favourite is the negroni. “It stands up really well with the Campari,” she says “which can be quite overbearing with a lot of gins, so I wanted to make sure my gin had enough botanical presence that it can stand up to that Campari, which I am really happy to say that it does.”

Tasting note: [Batch 10] Fresh juniper and pepperberry aromas over hints of anise, lemon sorbet, grapefruit and white pepper. Vivacious , full bodied and deliciously textural with a superb medley of herbal / citrus / pepperberry and piney juniper flavours.
