Panarea Sunset Gin (700ml)

This gin gets its name and taste from the Aeolian Islands off the coast of Sicily, where many of the botanicals are grown. Like Panarea's 'Island' gin, it's a herbaceous style using a combination of juniper, myrtle berries, citrus peels and coriander. Two key Mediterranean ingredients are basil and grapefruit, so it's recommended with a garnish of crushed basil leaves.

Tasting note: [20ml sample] More earthy and vegetal on the nose than the 'Island' version, with aromas reminiscent of celery leaf, angelica root, split pine and light pepper. It's light, fresh and racy through the mid palate, rounding off with a citrus tang, faint juniper and lingering pepper warmth. 44% Alc./Vol.
