Imbue Distillery Citrus Agave Spirit (700ml)

You can't call it Tequila because it's made outside the designated production zone, but this novel spirit is actually created using Mexican Blue Agaves, fermented and distilled by Imbue right here in Melbourne. It tastes nothing like Tequila, instead the flavour focus is on ripe blood orange and pink grapefruit. That's because it's blended with Imbue's citrus liqueur which employs a mix of seasonal off-cuts (oranges, lemons and limes are also included). The production process not only minimises wastage but also results in a very convincing alternative to Triple Sec - silky, sweet and juicy, though perhaps slightly lighter than most European equivalents.
