Walnut liqueurs have a long-standing tradition in the Dauphiné region where the Carthusian order is located. Originally known as "'Eau de noix des Pères Chartreux', this one comes from the creators of Chartreuse. Green walnuts are collected in St. Jean and macerated in alcohol. A secret blend of various other plants is added as well as sugar, with the final composition aged in barrels for several years before bottling. 23% Alc./Vol.
