2022 The Black Chook Shiraz

Rich, chewy and opulent McLaren Vale Shiraz that’s a standout value.

Co-fermented with 5% Viognier, this generously endowed Shiraz sees 12 months oak maturation. Dense inky black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced liquorice, blackberry and dark plum scents flood the nostrils with some spicy vanillin cedar, scorched earth and peppered fennel notes also evident. Rich, chewy and opulent, the full bodied palate is awash with succulent black cherry, liquorice and blackberry fruits. Spicy vanillin cedar, scorched earth and peppered fennel elements extend across the back half. Ripe sturdy tannin structure with the long, sumptuous finish laced with blackpepper. A standout value.
