Matured in 30% new American and French oak for 18 months. Magnificent impenetrable inky black heart with a near equally deep dark red black hue. Intense ripe blackcurrant and mulberry scents fill the nostrils complimented by vanillin cedar, tobacco, earthy dried herb and spice notes. Rich blackcurrant and liquorice fruits are framed by firm tannins which impart a tense, grippy feel. Cedary tobacco, earthy black olive and spice characters are also evident. Concludes dry and austere with a muscular feel.
