2022 Alex Moreau Bourgogne Chardonnay

Significant changes have taken place at the estate previously known as Bernard Moreau, as brothers Alex and Benoît have divided the domaine and now run separate operations. Starting with the 2021 vintage, the estate has now been renamed Domaine Alex Moreau in recognition of Alex's three decades of dedication to the family venture.

Fresh and bright aromas include those of pear, apple and just sliced citrus. There is fine volume to the fleshy and generously proportioned middleweight flavors that possess good energy that carries over to the clean and dry finale. This is a quality effort for its level and worth considering. Drink through 2026+.

The 2022 Bourgogne Chardonnay was picked at the end of the harvest. This has a lovely dried honey and yellow plum-scented bouquet. The palate is fresh on the entry with fine acidity, tapering a little yet maintaining tension throughout. Drink over the next 3-4 years. Drink 2024-2027.

Last picked, and this is the one wine which has been fined. A fresh lemon yellow. A lovely grapey bouquet, which continues through on the palate. A good fruit and oak complement. A good acid balance too. Relatively classic. Drink from 2025-2028.
