Matured for 18 months in French and American oak puncheons. Impenetrable inky black heart with a very deep dark purple black hue. Ripe morello cherry and liquorice aromas leap out of the glass with some vanillin cedar, earth and spicy leather notes also chiming in. Rich and chewy the palate is awash with morello cherry and liquorice fruits. Firm sturdy tannins and bright acidity lend plenty of structure. Vanillin cedar, earth and spicy leather characters linger on the back half. Finishes with some grip to the robust aftertaste.
