2020 Holm Oak Pinot Noir

Matured in 25% new French oak barrels for 10 months. Semi translucent dark red colour with black shaded edges and a light red hue. Fragrant violet, red cherry and strawberry scents intermingle with faint anise, dried herbs and delicate spicy cedar. Light in body the palate has appealing red cherry and red strawberry fruits which meld into a background of subtle meaty characters, infusions of fresh herbs and spicy cedar. Good fresh acidity with a refined tannin structure and elegant medium length conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Hand picked from multiple estate blocks of 5 clones through a 2-week period; destemmed, open fermented with wild yeast, matured for 10 months in French oak (25% new). Wonderful, crystal-clear crimson; the floral, red-fruit assemblage on the bouquet moves seamlessly into a complex palate in terms of the forest strawberry and cherry fruit, but a pure and tightly focused palate flowing effortlessly through to a long, fresh finish and lingering aftertaste. Drink by 2033.
