Matured in 1-4 year old French and American oak barrels for 18 months. Impenetrable inky black heart with a vibrant dark red black hue. Ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas escape from the glass followed by some cassis, red currant, light earth and spicy vanillin cedar notes. Juicy blackberry, liquorice and red currant fruits fill the mouth. Vibrant acidity and slightly chalky tannins provide structure. Blueberry, vanillin cedar and spice characters are also evident. Finishes with a lively yet luscious feel and a medium to long aftertaste.
