Aged in medium toasted French oak for 18 months. Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Aromas of spicy dark cherries and anise are married to toasty oak followed by some dried meat and clove notes. Soft fleshy mouthfeel with flavours of dark cherries and anise swamped by prominent toasty oak on the back palate. Earth, dried clove and spice characters also chime in. Velvet smooth tannins with a lingering toastiness on the medium length aftertaste.
