2017 Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay

Bright yellow straw colour with hints of pale gold around the edges and a watery hue. Potent ripe peach, honeycomb, crème brulee and bacon fat aromas fill the olfactory senses with spicy nougat and roasted nut scents also evident. Rich, concentrated and luscious on the front half with ripe peach, apricot and honeycomb flavours to the fore, the back half enlivened by a burst of fresh acidity. Notions of crème brulee, citrusy nougat and spicy bacon fat ensue. Finishes dry with a long, rich yet balanced aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
