2017 Nietschke Julius Shiraz

Impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Pronounced aniseed and blackberry aromas jump out of the glass with elements of smoky vanillin oak, fennel, light scorched earth and pepper ensuing. Bold, plush and lavish the mouth is flooded with rich aniseed, blackberry and cassis fruit which overlays toasty vanillin oak, some fennel and spicy pepper nuances. Opulently textured and expressive with velvet smooth tannins. Excellent depth and power concluding with a long fleshy aftertaste that has some lingering toasty oak.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
