2017 Masso Antico Appassito Primitivo

This is another wine that was rated 99 points by Italian wine critic Luca Maroni. Totally opaque midnight black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Aromatics of black cherries, liquorice, subtle black plum and dried raisins intermix with scorched earth and black pepper. Bold richly textured flavours of luscious black cherries and liquorice saturate the mouth with an undercard of dark plum, earth, toasty vanillin oak and spice. Opulent finish with ripe, slightly chewy tannins largely concealed. Good depth with a medium to long aftertaste of juicy black fruits, vanillin oak, earth and spicy raisins.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
