Produced from predominately Sangiovese with a small addition of Cabernet and Merlot. Maturation took place in a mix of 80% Slavonian oak barrels and 20% French barriques for 12 months.
Deep dark red black core with a dark red hue. Spicy red currant aromas intermingle with a faint whiff of violets, earth, light dusty cedar and dried herbs. Light to medium weight with an elegant feel, flavours of red currant meld into elements of scorched earth, dried herbs and spice. Slightly dryish finish with bright acidity and a shade chalky tannins. Moderate aftertaste.
