2016 Fox Creek Short Row Shiraz

Matured for 20 months in a mixture of new, one year old and two year old barrels. An inky black core shows impressive colour saturation with an equally deep dark red black hue. Ripe blackberry, liquorice and to a lesser extent black cherry aromas show good intensity with toasty vanillin oak and spicy earth the undercard. Full bodied, rich, opulently textured flavours of blackberry, liquorice and black cherry hover over a toasty vanillin oak and spice back drop. The tannins have a robust feel but are well concealed beneath the wealth of fruit. Medium to long aftertaste of blackberries, liquorice, ripe black cherries, vanillin oak and spicy blackpepper.
