2016 Elderton Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon

Sourced from vines aged between 19-72 years old, Nuriootpa fruit made up 75% of the blend with the balance coming from Eden Valley. Matured in predominately second and third fill French hogsheads and puncheons for 22 months. Totally opaque black core with a dark red black tinged hue. Lifted cassis like aromas and dark plum scents drift from the glass followed by cedary tobacco, black olive and spicy dried herb elements. Full bodied and very rich the palate is crammed with ripe blackcurrant and spicy dark plum fruit. Cedary tobacco, subtle black olive and dried herb elements then move in. Sturdy tannin framework. Long spicy ripe blackcurrant, dark plum, cedary tobacco character, black olive and dried herb aftertaste.
