2016 Carpineta Fontalpino Chianti Colli Senesi

Deep dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. Ripe red currant and cherry aromatics are overlaid by a faint rose petal whiff with earthy tobacco, spicy cedar and subtle dried herb scents also evident. Light to medium weight with a youthful freshness the palate possesses a savoury flavour profile of red cherries and red currant over subtle earthy tobacco and fresh herb characters. Finishes dry with bright acidity. Slightly chalky tannins give the back palate a rustic feel. Aftertaste of spicy red cherries, red currant, earthy tobacco characters and dried herbs.
