2016 Cape Mentelle Shiraz

Impressive pitch black colour with a deep bright dark red black tinged hue. Liquorice, blackberry and meaty scorched earth like aromas spring from the glass followed by spicy vanillin cedar and blackpepper notes. Full bodied rich blackberry, liquorice and black cherry flavours are ably carried by a ripe chewy tannin structure that imparts some firmness to the finish. Meaty scorched earth characters, vanillin cedar and blackpepper prevail on the back palate. Long black cherry, liquorice, smoky vanillin cedar, dried meat, spicy earth and blacpepper aftertaste.
