2016 Brancaia Chianti Classico

One of Tuscany’s leading Estates, Podere La Brancaia is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone at Poppi, in Radda in Chianti, drawing on fruit from Poppi and La Brancaia in Castellina. This wine is a 100% Sangiovese and is fermented and aged in stainless steel and concrete.
Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark to brick red hue. Lifted ripe red currant and cherry aromas have an earthy overlay with dried herb, dusty notes and spice in tow. Savoury red currant and red cherry fruits light up the elegant, medium bodied palate, underpinned by bright acidity. Chiming in on the back half are notions of earth, infusions of fresh herbs and spice which are supported by sturdy yet finely built tannins. The aftertaste long, refined and rustic.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
