2015 Charles Melton Grains of Paradise Shiraz

Impenetrable black as night core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Heady aromas of ripe black cherry, blackberry and liquorice laced with smoky cedar and fennel blossom from the glass. Some peppered dried meat notes are also apparent. Rich, ripe blackberry, liquorice and more subtle dark chocolate flavours fill the mouth over toasty vanillin oak, infusions of fennel and spicy pepper. Supple mid palate and elegant in structure with slightly dryish but finely grained tannins. Excellent depth with a lengthy finish of peppered blackberries, liquorice, toasty vanillin cedar, dried meats and spice.
