2015 Brokenwood Indigo Vineyard Chardonnay

Brilliant very pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Delicate nectarine and grapefruit aromas combine with biscuity oak, light cashew and nougat followed by some matchstick end notes. Light in body and very elegant the palate possesses subtle flavours of nectarines and grapefruit over lightly spiced cashew, nougat and infusions of gun flint. Clean dry finish with a fresh feel and lively acidity. Aftertaste of nectarines, cashews, a touch of spicy nougat and gun flint.
Cellar 5-6 years.

Features the very good Dijon clones, hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed, fermented and matured in French oak (33% new). While this shares the white peach and grapefruit flavour of its Orange sibling, there is an added thrust and drive to the palate, the long finish reflecting that drive. Drink by 2025.
