Matured in French oak hogsheads for 12 months. Totally opaque black dark purple colour with a deep dark purple hue. Pronounced juicy blackberry and dark plum aromas are intermixed with some liquorice over a background of vanillin cedar and spice. Full bodied with a rich juicy generosity the palate features flavours of blackberries, liquorice and dark plum followed by some lightly toasted vanillin cedar and spicy pepper on the finish. Velvety but structural tannins with an aftertaste of ripe dark plums, liquorice, vanillin cedar and spicy pepper.
