2014 Jim Barry The Lodge Hill Riesling Cellar Release

A marriage of lime and lemon fruit to building tertiary elements.

Brilliant straw colour with green tinged edges and a watery hue. Elevated lime and lemon butter scents have a distinct oily toast like overlay followed by some steely kerosene notes. Zippy acidity underpins lime and lemon flavours with tertiary elements of toast, oily kerosene like elements and wet steel building across the back half. Oily like texture finishing long and dry.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

One of the highest vineyards in the Clare Valley at 480m, next to Petaluma's celebrated Hanlin Hill vineyard, and looking out to Spencer Gulf, 65 km away. Classic dry Clare style, with lemon, lime and apple blossom aromas, the strongly structured palate following suit with a base of chalky/minerally acidity. (Tasted 2014).
