2013 Wolf Blass Grey Label Cabernet Shiraz

Matured for 18 months in seasoned and new, French and American oak barrels. Excellent colour saturation displaying an impenetrable black as night core with a deep dark red black hue. A chorus of ripe blackcurrant, liquorice and black cherry fruit sails out of the glass followed by smoky vanillin cedar and pepper notes. The palate boasts superb richness and concentration with the varietal characteristics of Cabernet and Shiraz clearly evident. Opulent flavours of blackcurrant, liquorice and luscious blackberries flooding the mouth over a back drop of vanillin cedar, faint tobacco and spicy blackpepper. Velvet smooth yet sturdy tannins are swamped by waves of rich black fruits. Excellent depth with a long ripe blackcurrant, liquorice, blackberry, toasty vanillin oak and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
