Also known as Zinfandel, Primitivo is well suited to the region of Puglia, one of Italy’s warmest, most southerly regions. Totally opaque black as night dark red core with a deep dark red black hue. Pronounced aromatics of ripe black cherries and liquorice meld into hints of dried cherries, scorched earth and spicy old cedar. Rich Morello and dried cherry flavours fill the mouth with liquorice, scorched earth, old leathery cedar and spice ensuing. Bold opulent mouthfeel finishing with dry chewy tannins. Aftertaste of ripe Morello cherries, dried cherries, liquorice, earthy cedar, a touch of old leather and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
